The professional boxing match between Hunt and Sonny Bill Williams on Saturday was the last time Hunt would compete in a combat sport. The Sydney venue, Aware Super Theater, hosted the event.
Hunt hadn’t fought in nearly two years, but he showed he still has knockout power by knocking out the previously unbeaten fighter in the fourth round of their fight.
“I’m smiling not because of the win, but I’m smiling because this is the last time I walked into a ring of combat of any sorts,” Hunt said.
“My first thought after was, ‘Sh*t, I want to do that again!’, but no.”
Hunt began his career in combat sports in 1998, when he competed in kickboxing.
