Paddy Pimblett has his next fight scheduled just two weeks after saying he was waiting for an opponent to step up.
On Saturday, the UFC announced that Pimblett would face Jared Gordon in the Octagon at UFC 282, a pay-per-view event set for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 10.
Pimblett has won all three of his bouts since joining the promotion more than a year ago. The former Cage Warriors champion made his debut against Luigi Vendramini and then won back-to-back fights in London in front of his home crowd by submission against Rodrigo Vargas and Jordan Leavitt. The Liverpool native has won “Performance of the Night” bonuses in each of his UFC bouts thus far.
Gordon, a veteran with a 7-4 record in the promotion, will be Pimblett’s opponent. His only loss in that span came to Grant Dawson at UFC Vegas 53 in April, so “Flash” has won four of his last five bouts.
It was expected that Pimblett vs. Gordon would take place earlier this year, but that matchup never happened.
UFC 282 is a rematch for the light heavyweight title between Ji Procházka and Glover Teixeira
