At UFC 280 on October 22, champion Aljamain Sterling will defend his championship for the second time against T.J. Dillashaw.
The battle was originally scheduled to take place on Sept. 10, but it was postponed due to a change in the schedule.
Both Sterling (17-4) and Dillashaw (21-3) have verbally agreed to the matchup following an original report from ESPN, according to MMA Junkie’s sources.
On Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the Etihad Arena will host UFC 280 on Saturday, February 2.
Prelims are expected to air on ESPN and ESPN+, followed by the main event on pay-per-view.
He’s won seven straight fights, including two over former champion Petr Yan, and he’s 32 years old.:
- Charles Oliveira vs. Islam Makhachev – for vacant lightweight title
- Aljamain Sterling vs. T.J. Dillashaw – for bantamweight title
- Sean Brady vs. Belal Muhammad
- Sean O’Malley vs. Petr Yan
