It won’t be long before we see Shane Burgos and Marlon Moraes in their new promotion.

It is planned for the two former UFC contenders to meet in a featherweight bout at the 2022 PFL Championships on November 25 at a yet-to-be-determined venue. ESPN, the PFL’s broadcast partner, was the first to reveal the booking on Tuesday.

After coming out of retirement to join the PFL, Moraes will participate in the same weight class as Burgos.

After his victory over Charles Jourdain by majority decision on the main card of UFC on ABC 3 on July 16, which was the final bout of Burgos’ contract with the UFC, Burgos moved on to pursue other opportunities. After losing to Josh Emmett and Edson Barboza in consecutive Fight of the Night contests, the 31-year-old is now on a two-fight winning streak thanks to this victory.

Moraes (23-10-1 MMA, 0-0 PFL) is a former UFC champion aiming to get back on track after a four-fight losing run effectively ended his time in the promotion. The Brazilian’s most recent victory was a split decision over Jose Aldo at UFC 245 in December 2019.
