The warlord who is accused of torture, summary executions, and war crimes is now mediating conflicts between UFC fighters. Ramzan Kadyrov.
On his official Instagram account, the Chechen dictator shared a screenshot from a video conference with UFC star Khamzat Chimaev and Abubakar Nurmagomedov, the two fighters involved in a brawl after UFC 280. Kadyrov stated in the caption that the brawl was a “misunderstanding” and that he had settled the quarrel between the fighters.
“There is no problem between Khamzat Chimaev and Abubakr Nurmagomedov—I have made sure of it personally, and I pass this information on to the ill-wishers,” Kadyrov said on Instagram.
“Do not blow up this problem of a global scale and do not try to instigate and tease athletes and their fans. This happens, even among brothers. But it was the misunderstanding that was resolved.”
In addition to being one of the most dangerous individuals in Chechnya, Vismuradov has been in charge of sending Chechen forces to fight in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
It should be noted that Chimaev had already attracted unfavorable attention to himself on Saturday after the UFC star uploaded a picture of him sitting cage-side with Ali Kadyrov, the son of Chechen ruler Ramzan Kadyrov. Kadyrov reportedly brought his children, including the 14-year-old, to the captured and ruined Ukrainian port city of Mariupol for propaganda photo ops dressed as soldiers. In the video, the three juveniles can be seen hiding in the bushes and shooting grenade launchers and assault guns from a safe distance.
