Takashi Sato was knocked out cold by a head kick from Bryan Battle at UFC on ESPN 40.
The “Ultimate Fighter 29” middleweight champion had an impressive welterweight debut. On Saturday night, his stunning head kick on Sato at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas was a highlight of the night (16-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC).
Combatant Battle said after the match that he believed that he could finish Sato in the octagon with a single head kick.
Michael Bisping called it “crazy” after the bout. “We had hoped for it. It surprised me how swiftly it came. “That was my finest strike,” I thought to myself.
In his post-fight interview, Battle recognized Bryan Barberena, but he singled out Ian Garry.
Battle indicated that Garry is being protected. I’d love to have you. I’m in desperate need of electricity. Nothing can stop us now that none of us is rated.
