Tyron Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion, recently gave an interview to TMZ in which he discussed several MMA greats of the modern era. Some people might be surprised by his opinions on Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC lightweight champion and current number one male pound-for-pound fighter.
“[Khabib Nurmagomedov] on my top 10 list? Probably not,” said Woodley.
“I fuck with Khabib. I like him, I respect him a lot. I think he’s a good fighter. I think his type of fight for that weight class, nobody could do that besides Sean Sherk back in the day, but like, he was just really aggressive, but I didn’t see the wrestler with good hands fight him so I couldn’t really jump on that train.”
After a 0-3 record, Woodley was released from the UFC. After retiring from the MMA, he faced influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul twice, losing both times.
