A split decision went in favor of Alessandro Costa over Juan Andres Luna (30-27, 28-29, 29-28) C+ is the minimum acceptable grade. Alessandro Costa prevailed over Juan Andres Luna in the end, despite a long and drawn-out contest.
Even while I support the idea of adding more competition at flyweight, I can’t say that I blame the UFC president for passing on Costa, considering the high level of production and excitement that comes with fighting at 125 pounds.
Even if Costa gets a call-up on short notice, both guys still have plenty of time to perform.
