At the final UFC pay-per-view of 2022, a bout between two of the division’s most seasoned veterans is expected to go down.
Alexander Gustafsson, who has challenged for the UFC title multiple times, is set to return in a light heavyweight contest against Ovince Saint Preux. The fight will air live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on December 10 during UFC 282.
On Tuesday, two unidentified sources alerted the media of the matchup booking before the promotion made the formal announcement.
Gustafsson, 35, has gone winless in the octagon since May of 2017. His current record reads 18-8 (MMA) and 10-8 (UFC). The four times he’s tried, he’s lost decisively each time. He lost his championship shot to Jon Jones through TKO, then to Anthony Smith and Fabricio Werdum via submission, and finally to Nikita Krylov via TKO in 67 seconds in July.
