The only light heavyweight fight on the event on Saturday night ended quickly.

Alonzo Menifield faced Misha Curkunov, who was making his comeback to the division after competing at middleweight, as the opening bout of the main card at UFC Fight Night 212 at the UFC Apex. ESPN+ carried the fight live.

In this fight, Menifield (13-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) switched training camps and went into battle with only one guy at his side: former UFC fighter Pat Barry. Menifield, who had always been known for his explosive power, finished Cirkunov (15-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC) in the first round.

After the referee intervened to prevent Menifield from landing any more blows, Cirkunov lay unconscious on the canvas for a few moments.
