On Friday, just a few hours before their main event bout at UFC on ESPN 41, Marlon Vera and Dominick Cruz met one another in person for the first and only time.
Vera (19-7-1 MMA, 13-6 UFC) and Cruz (24-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC) are scheduled to square off against one another in a bantamweight fight with enormous stakes this coming Saturday at Pechanga Arena. The entirety of the card is broadcast on ESPN and is available to stream on ESPN+.
However, in order for “Chito” and Cruz to share the octagon, it was necessary for them to finish the unfinished business associated with their respective bouts. That included making weight on Friday morning without any problems and then participating in the final staredown.
