Nate Landwehr plans to make a direct assault on David Onama here in San Diego.
Onama (10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will compete against Landwehr (15-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 41, which will take place at Pechanga Arena in San Diego on Saturday. The card can be seen on ESPN as well as streamed on ESPN+.
Onama has a perfect record of finishing his opponents, but Landwehr is certain that he will be the one to do it.
At the media day for UFC on ESPN 41, which took place on Wednesday, Landwehr remarked, “He’s good.” “He’s big, he’s tall, he’s young, he’s fast – I feel like I’m going to smash his face in. We’re going to see real quick. We’ve got five minutes to start off. We’ll see if we make it to the second five minutes. We’ll see if we make it to the third five minutes. “
Onama will be competing in front of an audience for the first time in his UFC career, as well as in a significant co-headlining role; yet, Landwehr anticipates that he will still bring the fight regardless.
Landwehr was quoted as saying, “I don’t think there’s an edge.”
“I think the first time I ever did something cool, it felt natural, too. So it’s like you’ve either got it or you don’t. We’re going to see if he has it. He probably has it, and going to be a fist fight.”
