Khamzat finished Kevin Holland in the first round of UFC 279 with a D’Arce choke to improve to 6-0 (12-0 MMA) in the UFC.

After Khamzat missed weight by seven and a half pounds owing to claimed health problems backstage, Khamzat’s initial showdown with Nate Diaz was canceled.

Adesanya was impressed with Khamzat’s  performance,

“Sh*t was crazy,” Adesanya said.

“Khamzat– shout out to Kevin, good sh*t. He held a good account of himself, scrambling, sticking to the position.”

“But Khamzat was just a step ahead – two steps ahead event,”  Adesanya said.

“But he missed weight, so he a b*tch for that.”

This time, Adesanya will be defending his middleweight belt against Alex Pereira of Brazil at Madison Square Garden in a bout for UFC 281.
