Yazmin Jauregui may be young, and she may be just starting out in MMA, but that does not mean that she lacks confidence.
Iasmin Lucindo (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Jauregui (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), both 23 years old and hailing from Brazil, will square off in a women’s strawweight bout this coming Saturday at UFC on ESPN 41. Jauregui, who hails from Mexico and recently won the Combate Global tournament, will be making her promotional debut.
And despite the fact that both competitors will be making their first appearances in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, they will be participating in a featured battle that will take place before the co-main event and the main event. Due to the fact that Lucindo, who hails from Brazil, is only 20 years old, it is quite obvious that the UFC views the fight as one between two prospects who have the ability to become future stars in the division.
The odds are more than two to one that Jauregui will maintain her perfect record, and she believes that she is poised for a quick knockout that will launch her career in the UFC. During the media day on Wednesday in San Diego, she stated that this will help encourage supporters in the country where she was born.
