Khamzat Chimaev appears to have his sights set on a rematch with Colby Covington, a former challenger for the UFC welterweight championship, despite his struggles with making 170-pounds. The odds of this happening have been shortened and are now quite near.
At online sportsbook Sportsbetting.ag, Chimaev is listed as a slight favorite at -160, while Covington is seen as an underdog at +140. This site claims that the date of this match must be before to July30, 2023 for it to be effective.
Chimaev, who is undefeated at 12-0, has submitted five of his six UFC opponents, including the now-retired Kevin Holland in a catchweight bout at UFC 273. As of now, it looks that Khamzat is still set on challenging for the 170-pound title, despite the fact that he may have to go up to 185 pounds for his next fight if he can’t make weight for his fight with Nate Diaz at welterweight.
Colby has twice challenged former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman for the title, but has failed both times. Covington’s 17-3 record is still very respectable.
