Nikita Krylov disrupted Alexander Gustafsson’s comeback to competition.
Gustafsson (18-7 MMA, 10-7 UFC) returned Saturday after a two-year hiatus. Krylov (28-9 MMA, 9-7 UFC) knocked him down early with a haymaker.
Krylov’s deadly instinct took over. He persistently pushed Gustafsson until he earned another knockdown, followed by ground shots, ending the light heavyweight contest in 67 seconds.
Krylov requested a battle with Volkan Oezdemir, who beat Paul Craig two fights earlier.
Krylov told Michael Bisping post-fight that beating Gustafsson was the highlight of his career. “Go Volkan!” UAE’s UFC (on Oct. 22). Combat!
