On September 10th, UFC 279: Chimaev vs. Diaz will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Even though Nate Diaz isn’t a top-ten ranked fighter, Khamzat Chimaev accepted to face him because he is one of the toughest in the UFC.
Khamzat realizes that beating Diaz at UFC 279 won’t get him any closer to a title battle, but it will prove he is one of the baddest fighters in the sport and a bonafide gangster-slayer.
Khamzat, who has a perfect record (11-0 in MMA and 5-0 in the UFC), says he agreed to the fight for fun and is looking forward to making short work of Diaz (20-13 in MMA and 15-11 in the UFC) on September 10 in the cage.
“Actually, I don’t need to fight that guy. I fight the guy just for fun,” Chimaev said.
“I was a kid when he was fighting. I could wait for the title … I took that fight, that guy is not top, but he’s famous. Everyone loves him, everyone talk about this gangster. I eat gangsters for the breakfast. I’m gonna f**k that guy.”
