SAN JOSE, Calif. – One of the biggest Bellator fight weeks of the year is nearly concluded and all that’s left are the fights themselves.
For the final time before gloves are laced and punches are thrown, Bellator 277 competitors went face-to-face at the ceremonial weigh-ins Thursday at SAP Center, the same venue which hosts Friday’s fights. The ceremonial weigh-ins and faceoffs took place hours after the official weigh-ins at the host hotel.
Among the pack were featherweight title rivals champion A.J. McKee (18-0 MMA, 18-0 BMMA) and former champion Patricio Freire (32-5 MMA, 20-5 BMMA), who will meet in a championship main event for the second time.
Co-main eventers and light heavyweight grand prix finalists champion Vadim Nemkov (14-2 MMA, 7-0 BMMA) and Corey Anderson (16-5 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) also engaged in an intense staredown.
Fourteen fights take place at Friday’s event with the main card airing on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie. Check out full video of the ceremonial weigh-ins and faceoffs above.
